Book Tag: 3 Days, 3 Quotes – Day 3 & Quote of the Week

One last time, thank you so much again Alyssa Grace @ Serendipitous Reads for tagging me! ❤

This time, this tag goes alongside my Quote of the Week choice!

As it turned out yesterday, writing and reading cannot really be separated from each other. Thus this quote is kind of about both of them, too.

Take a look at the other two quotes of this tag:

My Quote

“A book is made from a tree. It is an assemblage of flat, flexible parts (still called “leaves”) imprinted with dark pigmented squiggles. One glance at it and you hear the voice of another person, perhaps someone dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, the author is speaking, clearly and silently, inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people, citizens of distant epochs, who never knew one another. Books break the shackles of time – proof that humans can work magic.”

— Carl Sagan

There are two quotes that I absolutely love about reading, that sum up what I feel about it.

One of them is this one. This shows how magical, how incredible it is that we all have the opportunity to know and feel and understand what is inside a complete stranger, even without having to live at the same time. I’ve been fascinated with this ever since I was a child.

The other one I already shared before: Quote of the Week. This is more about what’s worth to read, and what way I like to do it. A reader’s ars poetica, if I might put it like that. Check it out, too! 😉

So here’s the question: what reading means to you? How and what do you like to read? What made you create a book blog?

I’m very keen to see your answers!

Hugs 🙂

  1. I love what you’ve done with the themes and quote of the week! You reminded me of how much I love the Faulkner quote in particular–it’s where my blog tagline is inspired after all. Sadly very little of what I’ve written has been in the ‘good’ part and most of it would be thrown out the window.

    1. Everybody starts there, I think. The important part is not to give up and carry on doing it! With time and practice there’s sure an improvement 😉 And people usually are also more critical with their own writing, so it’s probably not that bad 😅😬😊

    1. Ah, have I found a fellow Cosmos – lover? 🤩 I love (and chose) this quote both because I like what it says and it is him who said it! It is definitely a perk beyond the meaning 😁 Though the quote in itself is one of the most inspiring thoughts I’ve ever came across.
