I woke up the other day and with tasty coffee in the mouth,
I clicked to open my mail – and this is what I found:
A lovely invitation from Robbie Yates, and Shalini, my friend…
I hope the sunshine you guys emit is never gonna end!
That’s why I decided to write this weird, funny poem,
Though I’m a quirky little doc’, and FAR from a poet!
I already confessed that for every different drink
I have a different mug to use (that’s how I fill the sink..)
One for cocoa, one for milk, another for the tea,
For God’s sake, just don’t forget my sweet mug for coffee!
I also do another thing when I strongly concentrate:
Some moments pass and I notice my hair is in a braid.
Based on these you might think I’m not even that weird –
I have to say I’m less normal than it first appeared.
I always have a hairband ready around my right wrist,
Though I hate to get my hair up – and that’s less than half the list!
I like to paint my fingernails, make them match my clothes,
Weird thing is what I never do is polishing my toes.
I often talk with tiny sounds rather than a chat,
That’s why sometimes people think my noise to be the cat.
I make a list of everything, when in thoughts I sing,
This poem could go forever on, weird is so my thing!
My review about Robbie’s book gets out on the 8th December,
’til then, please read the others’ posts, with a hot drink in this cold weather!
Book Blurb:
Maxine is smart, quirky, and a bit of a misfit. One day, she receives a mysterious invitation to a meeting of the “Kooky Kids’ Club.”
Things are looking bright. It’s nice to finally have a real group of friends. Then Maxine’s teacher disappears.
Maxine doesn’t know what happened to her beloved teacher, or how she can help. But if anybody has the smarts to help Miss Thompson, it’s Maxine and the Kooky Kids’ Club…
This quirky chapter book is for the best kind of kidsβthe ones who are a little bit kooky!
Author Bio
Robbie Yates is an author from Melbourne, Australia. He likes cocoa, cheeky poetry, and eating all of the red jellybeans before anybody else can get to them.
In his free time, Robbie likes to read ridiculous and wacky kidsβ fiction. He also likes practical jokes and terrible puns.
(I’m part of this blog tour thanks to the awesome Digital Reads Blog Tours! Check this site out, I really love Shalini’s tours! You might find to love them, too!) π
I hope you guys can forgive me for this bad attempt at writing a poem! I just couldn’t resist…
