‘The Flower Arranger’ by JJ. Ellis

'The Flower Arranger' is one of the books I should've read and reviewed a long, long time ago. I was supposed to be a part of the blog tour around the publication, and I cannot emphasize enough how ashamed and sorry I am that I couldn't even think about it at the time. I couldn't even write an email about not doing it. I'm so sorry! I hate that this past year was so chaotic that I couldn't even do a blog tour for them, even if I agreed to it very much in advance. On the other hand, I'm not 100% sure that my review would have suited a promotional tour. It's not really a bad one, but to be honest, not completely a good one, either. 'The Flower Arranger' has a fairly good promise as a debut novel, but it fell a bit flat for me. Or my expectations were too high, who knows. Anyways, here's my review.

‘In Your Silence’ by Grace Lowrie

I must start this review with an enormous apology to both the tour organizer and the author. I was supposed to post it as part of a blog tour WEEKS ago... I thought I did, too, but since it was my hiatus, and my head was filled with everything life (and death... and also, work. A lot of work.) , I didn't check it properly. Turns out, it went out completely blank. Unfortunately I only noticed it days later, in between two shifts, and I only had time to take it down... I couldn't review it until now. Now, before anyone freaks out: I do not think that this was a real wordpress problem. I had troubles with my internet connection at the time, I used my smartphone to write posts, and what supposedly happened is that my phone lost the connection when the post should have been saved online, and... well, it wasn't. I didn't notice it because I was in a hurry. I'm very sorry about all this... (This happened with a couple of other posts two. They come later again...) So, let's talk about the book now!

‘Little Darlings’ by Melanie Golding

I've seen so many reviews of this book I can't even count! It seems like everybody has been reading 'Little Darlings', Melanie Golding's debut novel. I had no idea this was gonna be such a hit when I requested it months ago, but now I'm very happy I did (and got approved), because now I feel like I'm part of the conversation! 😀 This book really has a unique touch added to its thrillery-horrory basics, and though because I had to stop reading it several times because life was happening, I enjoyed it very much and it sucked me in right away every time I got back to it.

‘The Mother-in-Law’ by Sally Hepworth

I know a lot of you have already read this book (especially since in Australia - where it's also set - it was published earlier this year) and if I can believe Goodreads, many of you want to read it in the (near?) future. I only saw very few bad ratings/reviews, everybody seems to be liking it, so I was very excited to get to it myself!

Blog Tour: ‘One Last Prayer for the Rays’ by Wes Markin

This is my stop in the blog tour for 'One Last Prayer for the Rays', and I have to tell you that I'm so excited about this book! Of course, I expected it to be good, otherwise I wouldn't have wanted to participate in the tour, but it was absolutely great! I enjoyed it very much. And that's pretty much to say, because when I started reading I wasn't even in the mood for reading a thriller (I just had to do it for the tour, because for some unexpected reasons, I didn't have time later), and guys, I am a huge mood-reader! This book managed to get me in the mood for reading its kind, and that's a huge achievement. So, here it is: this is my blog tour post of a 5-star rated book! 😉

‘Sherlock Holmes and the Glad Game’ by Matt Ferraz

If you're familiar with the classic children's novel 'Pollyanna', you know very well what the so-called 'glad game' is. (I wasn't...embarrassingly I had to look it up...) If not, I'll tell you in a nutshell: it's making yourself think of something you can be glad about, even in the worst of situations. It's basically thinking positive... it's a game of optimism. So when I read the title and the description of 'Sherlock Holmes and the Glad Game' (and then went and read about who this Pollyanna girl is...) I knew that I must read a book where Sherlock meets this game and this girl! Cynical, rational Sherlock and naive, optimist Pollyanna interact...? It must be hilarious!
